Femida Handy is Professor (Tenured) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice and Senior Scholar at York University's Faculty of Environmental Studies.

She joined the University of Pennsylvania as Associate Professor in 2004 and became Professor in 2008. At York University, she was Lecturer in Economics from 1985 to 1995, Assistant Professor from 1995 to 2001, and tenured Associate Professor from 2001 to 2008.
